The Me Me Me Generation by AmericanDreaming The Me Me Me Generation by AmericanDreaming
Time Magazine did a cover on Millennials, which they refer to as the "Me Me Me" generation. img.timeinc.net/time/magazine/… , calling young people lazy entitled narcissists still glomming off their parents.

This is my version. If it's a generalization, it's no more a generalization than the original.

It's the truth. Nearly every generation is a me generation that contributes to the national debt at some point.

It is rather annoying though to hear the elderly and middle-aged railing on Millennials, when it's the Boomers who have truly ruined the country. They spent their youth partying with reckless abandon, then grew up, took over the country, and ran it into the ground.

Yup. Especially when you look at the past on these people.

I must admit there is a certain truth to your cover version. The Boomers wag their fingers at their Millenial children, but it was the Boomers who put self-gratification & self-justification over devotion to country, family, and charity.

I've seen the original. You forgot to mention the part where it said "Why they will save us all"

Oh so very true! As Kurt Vonnegut said about it "we could've saved the world but we were too damn cheap."

Xer's are Cynical and realize there really is no hope, we had our shot in the early 90s and then the MSM-co-opted "the Year Punk Broke" into BoyBandz, Brittany Spears, Smiley Virus and apolitical rap about Bling. Now we are just happy to have jobs (for now) until the whole shit-hole collapses. (most) NPR Boomer liberals still think Obumma will bring Hope and Change as soon as those naughty Republicans let him close Gitmo.

Sorry to generalize, I know there are grey areas... but the MSM sure doesn't want anyone to find out about it.

How come is it when Duck Dynasty Freakazoid bashes Gays it's "Freedom of Speech" but when Occupy calls out Wall Street it's pepper spray, harassment and Jail?...(rhetorical Q. I think one probably knows the answer. :)

I don't have anything against any generation, I just took umbrage at the media taking shots at young people when they are in a hole dug for them by their elders.

So this was a parody/satire? Because the meaning I got from this was initially different. But I guess that's Poe's Law in action: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php…

I'm not complaining by any means. My impression of Gen X'ers (even late models like myself) is that we've always been the middle children of social strife, never really belonging to one thing or the other as far as Baby Boomer or Millennial sentiments are concerned.

Every generation is the "Me me me" generation.  Some are just less open about the truth and hide it behind smokescreens like "The 99%".

Yes, because wanting fairer and more progressive fiscal policies is part of being selfish.

I think it's more the 1950's SitCom vision of America fading that has some Boomers in a uproar.
